Community News, COVID-19|

As a precautionary and protective measure and to stop the transmission of COVID-19 virus, The Chief and Council and the Pandemic Coordinator have made the decision to impose a lockdown for the Long Plain First Nation main community.  The lockdown will begin Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 8:00 AM and end on Thursday, January 13, 2022, as long as the number of COVID-19 cases don’t surge.  Curfew will also be imposed during this time which will be from 12:00 AM till 6:00 AM daily.

There will be 2 main entrances and exits to the main community which will be at the 305 Crossing and the Yellowquill Trail West with manned check points.

We are trying to ensure the members of Long Plain continue to be safe during these uncertain times.  We understand this will cause an inconvenience with the Holiday Season upon us, and this is the only way to protect the tribal members.

All Long Plain Staff are considered essential workers, regardless of address, will be allowed in the community during regular business hours from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM till 4:30 PM daily.  Tribal Members who reside elsewhere will not be allowed in.

Please respect the check point staff as they will be checking and documenting all the people coming into the community.  Please prepare in getting your items you may need during the lockdown

We are in this together and we can get out of this together.  Stay safe.
