Marketing Coordinator
Full-Time, 6-month term with possibility of extension
Position Summary
The Marketing Coordinator will play a vital role in amplifying the museum’s mission to educate, commemorate, and promote healing through the stories of Indigenous residential school survivors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns that reflect the museum’s values and engage diverse audiences.
- Create and manage culturally sensitive promotional materials including brochures, signage, and digital content.
- Maintain and grow the museum’s presence across social media platforms with thoughtful and engaging storytelling.
- Update and manage the museum’s website and email communications.
- Assist with media relations, including drafting press releases and coordinating interviews with museum representatives and community voices.
Qualifications
- Background in Marketing, Communications, Indigenous Studies, or a related field.
- Experience in marketing, preferably in a nonprofit, cultural, or Indigenous-focused organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Proficiency in social media, email marketing platforms, and website content management systems.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to truth and reconciliation and respectful representation of Indigenous histories.
