POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Manager of Jordan’s Principle will be responsible to plan, implement, deliver and evaluate the Jordan’s Principle Initiative at the Community level. The incumbent will report to the Health Director.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Provide Leadership, direction, and management to all Jordan Principle Staff while promoting a safe work environment.
- Effectively address any employee issues that may arrive relative to performance, attendance, training, human relationships, and to monitor staff performance to ensure quality professional service is delivered to community members/clientele.
- Ensure all contractual agreements are reviewed, discussed, and forward to the Health Director for signature in a timely and appropriate fashion.
- Prepare budgetary plans for all areas of responsibility prior to the fiscal year (March 1st) and submit to the Health Director and Long Plain Finance for approval.
- Ensure that all reporting requirements are met in accordance with government contributions specifications and requirements.
- Assist in the evaluation of services as provided by the various health-care agencies and independent contractors.
- Assist in the participation in the ISC planning cycle, including operational planning, and work plan review.
- Provide assistance as necessary in health service contribution agreements negotiations.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a post-secondary degree or equivalent such as LPN, RN, BSW, Bachelors in Teaching and Leadership Certification.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an supervisory role.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License, and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as CFS Act, Vulnerable Persons Legislation.
- Knowledge of culture, traditions, attitudes and socio-economic conditions of the First Nations communities.
- Knowledge of the Jordan’s Principle initiative.
- Must be able to travel as requested.
- Be able to work a flexible or irregular work schedule including after hours and weekends, as needed.
