The Long Plain First Nation (LPFN) Government, pursuant to the government agreements with Canada and the Province of Manitoba, are undertaking the jurisdiction of Child and Family Services (CFS) for LPFN. Makoose C. Gamik Inc. will be the newly mandated agency established for providing these services, with an approximate mandate effective date of November 1, 2024.
Makoose C Gamik means “Little Bear Den” in Ojibway.
A signatory to Treaty One, Long Plain First Nation is a proud Ojibway and Dakota community in the central plains region of Manitoba, situated on a land base of 10,800 acres.
