The LONG PLAIN FIRST NATION has declared a Local State of Emergency in response to the overland flooding currently happening in the community.
In conjunction with our Public Works, Lands Department and our engineers we have been evacuating those whose lanes are impassible AND are Elders or those with medical needs. This will continue until we are through this emergency.
The situation is changing rapidly but is being monitored closely and we are constantly reassessing.
